So with the Deadpool legacy number, from what I can tell, along with the four volumes of ongoing series, you're also including Cable & Deadpool (which I think is legitimate) and Agent X (sure, absolutely). But that still leaves, I think, 8 issues unaccounted for. So, does that mean you're including the two mini-series from before the Kelly run? If so, I believe that's a mistake and inconsistent with what the Legacy number should be. They're supposed to include only ongoings, not minis.

jordandwhiteqna:

Yeah, we did include those.

REALLY, we just based the legacy numbering off of the calculations we did for issue #250, the Deadpool death issue just before Secret Wars.  If we hit issue #250 37 issues ago, we should be on issue #287.

Okay, so you fudged it then so you could hit a nice round number to coincide with an event. Well, I’m sure it’s too late to change it at this point even if you wanted to, but again I would say it’s a mistake for the Legacy number to include those.

The idea with the Legacy number at its most fundamental level should simply be, “what would the number be if the original ongoing series had never been relaunched?” Emphasis on “ongoing series”.

Mini-series are not counted in pretty much any other title’s Legacy numbers - Thor’s doesn’t, Doctor Strange’s doesn’t, Moon Knight’s doesn’t, Black Panther’s doesn’t, Punisher’s… well, honestly, I can not figure out what on Earth you guys did to get Punisher’s number.

There are a couple of other exceptions, of course, but they’re also fudging things presumably so they can also hit a nice round number at a certain time (the most egregious example being Amazing Spider-Man including the Secret Wars “Renew Your Vows” mini when no other title is doing so with their respective Secret Wars replacement title).

It just seems like the whole point of doing the Legacy number at all is to appeal to the nuts like me who like to keep track of this stuff, and to make it less confusing to new people trying to look into a title’s back catalogue. If you’re not going to have set rules to it, if you’re not going to be consistent with it, if you’re not going to make RIGHT right, then it just doesn’t seem like you’re going to achieve that goal. And that’s a bummer because you could have.

Pedophilia in Spider-Man? Never! That only happens in X-Men. Everybody knows it. (Wolverine and teen Jean Grey in Ultimate X-Men; Charles Xavier about Jean Grey in X-Men 053 (1996); Old Man Logan and O5 Jean Grey in EXM).

Colossus and Kitty, no? Or was he under 18 when they dated?

Colossus was 19 (mentioned on panel) when Kitty celebrated her 14th birthday in X-Men Special Edition #1 - which was no long before they dated.

Hi Tom, can you let me know who the inker and colorist are for the Mark Bagley Thunderbolts #10 cover (featuring JOLT! OMG!)? Also, any chance I can see an inked copy of the cover, from before colors? Thanks :)

brevoortformspring:

If I’m remembering correctly, inked by John Dell and colored by Matt Yackey.

Do you actually remember things like that off the top of your head? Impressive.

its virtually impossible to answer.  so many.  i stand on his shoulders every day, i feed my family from his work every day, i think about his career and the way he was treated by the world every day…

things have gotten so great for comic creators.  we are treated with so much more respect and dignity not afforded by our predecessors. he deserves a posthumous kennedy center honor, a nobel prize, whatever the highest accolade for poets and storytellers are, he should be there,

look at this piece on him from entertainment tonight.  they treat him like he makes youtube cat videos.  he is in large part responsible for our mainstream popular culture and this is how they refer to him…

and the clash!

Stephen King’sThe Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #1
Pencils: Jae Lee
Alternate Pencils: Joe Quesada

10 years ago, I started an 8 years run on Stephen King’s the Dark Tower. A few days ago they announced that, in the film version, the role of Roland will be played by the great Idris Elba. He definitely has the right presence, can’t wait to see what they do with this new incarnation.

Having known the excitement of diving headfirst and immersing myself into mid-world and its mythology, I can tell you everyone involved in this project is in for a trip. It’s a fantastic universe and I’m glad it’s going to be discovered by an even wider audience.

Before the computing era, ILM was the master of oil matte painting, making audiences believe that some of the sets in the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogy were real when they weren’t. They were the work of geniuses like Chris Evans, Michael Pangrazio, Frank Ordaz, Harrison Ellenshaw and Ralph McQuarrie Forever thank you, to their handmade art and the work of their colleagues, that made us dream of impossible worlds and fantastic places across Earth and the Universe.
